Winter Sonata: Nami Island
Whether it's a 5 day or 3 day stay in South Korea. Nami Island should / "must" be part of your travel itinerary. I know you've been seeing this place to a lot of blogs and webbies. (and so I am including this to my page too.) And who would not want to include Nami Island to their travel list? - I doubt. A lot of people would go to this place everytime they travel to Sokor because it's nice to be here any season. Aside from going to this place because you want to have pictures here. It's cool to be in Nami Island just by walking or biking around or if you're an introvert like me, contemplating in this place is a must do too a.k.a pwedeng pwede kang magemote. There's more than taking pictures in Nami. You may also be the one observing people taking pictures. I am sure you will be amaze how people from different cultures and nationalities have something in common. They all do - selfies. Also, there's different events going on to this place from time to time. For this is a place is supported by different organizations like UNICEF. You may want to check out their website for more updated information. It's a place for artists, families, lovers and even solo traveler. You name it, everyone is welcome and you will never be left alone. There's this Nami charm for each one who travels to this place.
It was cold when we went to Nami. Freezing cold. It was the day that Jm, my friend, who is residing in Malaysia, arrived. We go directly to Nami Island right after she changed her costume, I mean clothes :) and off we go. It took us more than an hour to travel to Nami. The way to Nami is a bit complicated. (Yes, like that FB status. Hahaha!!!) You may want to do a take the tour from Insadong if you want to go directly but if you're like us, intrepid travelers. (my now favorite word) The easiest way is through subway (nothing more nothing less.)
Gapyeong Station
There is only one exit and aside from going to Nami Island via this Station there are other attractions that can be accessed here via the Gapyeong City Tour Bus.
Here's the list:
1. Jarasum
2. Nami Island
3. Petite France
4. Garden of Morning Calm
But instead of taking the bus since we're the power of three and the Immigration is just 10 minutes away, we took a cab from the Gapyeong Station.
IMMIGRATION
As a gentle reminder, do not forget your passport when you visit Nami. (Although that is already the general rule when you are in a different the country. Never leave your passport behind.)

There's more to discover in Korea through Nami. It was close to December and it only means that we're already in transition to winter. You have seen the leaves of Autumn during our visit to palaces. The happiness that these leaves reminded us how simple our joys are. And this time it was our first time to saw a body of water that is frozen. We were amaze there's more to life than what we experienced in Korea.
It was cold even if there's ray of sunshine. Our voices were breaking. I now know the meaning of freezing cold. Glad that I was able to experience those. I still say Thank you Apo!
