Silay Heritage Tour: El Ideal
El Ideal
Rizal Street, near Public Plaza Silay City Bacolod
It is one of the ancestral houses in Silay Heritage Tour. Ie and I went directly to this restaurant when we arrived in Bacolod. It was actually, suggested to us by one of the locals of this town. Believe me, El Ideal has been continuously serving since 1920s. It has been the same food that they catered back then.
Once you visit El Ideal, you must taste their famous guapple pie. I am not really a fan of fruit pies (except for coconut) so I asked Ie if she could ordered it and I will just taste it and ordered other pie instead. Aside from the pies you may want to take home some of Silay's delicacies. There's actually a store and you may take your pick which you may want to bring back home or take with you if you're still travelling in Bacolod. We also ate our lunch here so if you want to eat rice or heavy meals, you may do so. :)
The ambiance was really traditional. Some of the people that we saw in this place were locals of Bacolod, old men and women had their conversation using their dialects or Tagalog in a sing song tone - It was different but relaxing. I just remember our province in Ilocos. - very traditional and cultural.
