The Ruins can easily be accessed from Downtown Bacolod. It is the Taj Mahal of Negros. It was compared to the Ruins of Saint Paul in Macau. It is a must visit place when you are in Bacolod.
From L' Fisher we went to this place via jeep bound to Bata. From Goldcrest Village, you may take a tricycle going to the Ruins.
I really do not know the story of this place not until Ie told me and as I read it.
It was built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson early 1900s for his wife, Maria Braga Lacson, a Portuguese from Macau and their children. Most of the materials were brought abroad and they made sure that the construction of the mansion would be perfect. Their daughter, Angelina managed to put lilies on the garden around the fountain.
During the World War 2 the mansion was burnt by the guerilla fighters of the Philippines to prevent the Japanese from using the place as their headquarters. Until now, only the skeleton of the mansion is still standing still.
The story of the Ruins is as beautiful as how I saw it.
The is the story of Love - Love for the Family.
With the songs played at the entire area.
And lights lit at night, you will be romanticized by it's beauty and story.
In the morning you will be captured by the details of it's skeleton surrounded by the greeneries and the fountain in front of the house.
The Ruins will remind you of Great Love.
That no matter what, Love will stand still amidst time.
