Last but not the Least: South Batan Tour
6th day and 2nd to the last day in Batanes when we spent the entire day doing the South Batan Tour. It was raining in Manila, the flights of PAL going to Basco were all cancelled, the boats going to Sabtang and Itbayat were cancelled too. Nope it was not raining in Batanes but Habagat is affecting the entire province. We're still up for the tour. This time our Kuya Driver for this tour is Kuya Lito.
The Tour of the South consists of Mahatao, Ivana and Uyugan. 3 of 4 Municipalities of Batan Island the 4th is Basco which covers the entire North Batan Tour. As we travel going South, the wind was strong. We saw big waves from the ocean. We stopped by and took photos of waves crashing to different rock formations.
We saw MB Veronica travelling to opposite direction. Kuya Lito told us that it needs to go to Mahatao Shelther Port. Later on you will know more about the Mahatao Shelther Port. The good thing about the South Batan Tour is it's circumferential (according to Ryan Cardona) You do not need to go back from one point to another unlike Itbayat and Sabtang.
Mahatao
We were supposed to meet the Mayor but it was holiday and he was not in his office. We went to his house but her daughter told us that he's farming. I was really amaze.

Chawa View Deck
The Chawa View Deck. One of the spot to watch sunset. Because the waves were really big when we were there it was an opportunity for us to take photos with the waves crashing the cliffs. I went down and asked Kuya Lito to take my pictures. It is also a place for fishing.
Mahatao Shelther Port
The Mahatao Shelther Port serves as the protector of boats during bad weather. One project that I admire by the Mayor of Mahatao.
San Carlos Borromeo Church
Also known as the Mahatao Church. It is considered as a National Treasure by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA). This is where we found the Batanes Blank Book Archive and the Spanish Lighthouse.

Also known as Marlboro Hills. Anyone who sees the picture of this place would like to go to this place. Who doesn't? I could have stayed here hours or even days. Very Beautiful Place.

One of the oldest houses in Batanes. It is a picture perfect house. The owner let us in to take photos. They told us that they're already used to tourist taking photos even inside the house.

Baranggay Hall |
Honesty Coffee Shop
The Ivatan's Honest to Goodness character shown in this coffee shop. Few versions can be found around town like the one that we have at Marfel's Lodge and the Freedom Store in Basco.
Uyugan
The last Municipality in Batan Island.
San Antonio de Florencia Church
Known as the Uyugan Church. It was closed when we visited Uyugan. The church is near their municipality and within the Itbud Village where the local wine "palek" can be found.
Fisherman's cannot only be seen on the see but we saw them mostly along the beach, catching fishes.
