Batanes + Singapore = ?

Since I will be travelling to Singapore next, after my travel to Batanes.

What does Singapore and Batanes have in common?

Aside from Ivatan's and Singaporean's honest to goodness attitude. 

Batanes and Singapore's common denominator is Pacita Abad.

Pacita Abad (1946 - 2004) was born and raised in Basco Batanes. The Abads are well known family  in Batanes. They own the Fundacion Pacita located in Tukon.  One of her project is the Alkaff Bridge which is considered to be the gift of Pacita to Singapore. She painted the bridge together with her crew in different vibrant colors. The trademark of her paintings can be seen in Basco including their tricycles in Batan Island.
