Sweet Sabtang, Batanes

Reaching Sabtang from Ivana Port took us 20 minutes of faluwa ride. I could not forget the faluwa ride going to Sabtang because it's where we saw dolphins swimming along our boat. From the time that you see the view of this island you will be amaze as the lighthouse welcomes you with it's charm. Indeed, Sabtang is the most charming island among the islands in Batanes. - Very Sweet!

We met Kuya Edwin #5 from the Port. Our Sabtang Official Kuya driver.

San Vicente Ferrer Church

Located near the port of Sabtang. Every traveler who would like to start their Sabtang Travel with a prayer may go to this place. The church is also near the Tourism Office and Conscience Store where we bought bucayo for pasalubong.

At any place in Sabtang you will be mesmerize by their version of stone houses. The vernacular houses in Itbayat are mostly made of corals - in Sabtang it's made of stones. Aside from the numerous bicycles, I enjoyed taking photos of the houses. Each house has it's own appeal. I really would like to show you all of these stone houses, I know most of you would like to go to Batanes to see one. If I can show you more - I'll be more than glad to.

It was cool to see traditions in this place.

The Cogon Tricycle Only in Sabtang

The many stop overs because of the many picturesque views.

As you enter one village from the other is like a museum, entering different themes. And I could not stop taking pictures.

Nakanmuan

The first house you'll see when you enter Nakanmuan.

Sumnanga
After Nakanmuan is Sumnanga. Known as Little Hong Kong of Batanes. This reminded me of  Cheung Chau in Hong Kong. It was low tide when we went to Sumnanga. It's where Duvek Bay is located.

Duvek Bay

I was taking this shot when dogs started barking at me. Alas!
I was trespassing someone else's house.

Sea Horse Rock Formation

Bye for now.

Morong Beach/ Ahaw Stone Arch

The most famous landmark of Sabtang is the Ahaw Stone Arch. There is a restaurant near the Morong Beach. This is where travelers take their lunch. After our lunch we stayed along the beach. I lay on the sand and tried to sleep while Mother and Sheena were enjoying the view.

Sabtang Lighhouse
Sabtang Lighhouse is inspired by the stone houses of Batanes. The view from the ocean and the view above is equally beautiful. No matter what angle you take pictures of the lighthouse it will always be as beautiful as it is.

Batanes is not Batanes without it's animals.

Achichok Island

Savidug Village
Savidug Village is 3 kms away from town. One of the traditional villages in Sabtang. We roam around the village. Where are the people in this village? Most of the people cannot be seen in their home, they're working.

I've got permission. It seems that Ivatans are used to taking photos of their houses.

Tinyan Viewpoint and Chamantad Cove
We passed by this area for a few minutes. We did not stay longer since it was too hot.  Here's the only photos I got.

Sheena

On our way to Chavayan Village
I will be posting Chavayan Village separately since I've got more stories in Chavayan.
