Ryokan: Hostel Haruya Kyoto

I always prefer for old houses for accommodation. Since Kyoto is the oldest city in Japan. I chose to stay in a more Kyoto like ryokan. This made me chose Hostel Haruya for 2 nights stay. Of course, it was with Cathy's approval.

We arrived early in Kyoto from Osaka where we stayed for a night. It was a bit hard to find Hostel Haruya but walking around Kyoto was relaxing even if we carry Cathy's trolley.

From the main bus terminal of Kyoto. Hostel Haruya can be accessed via Bus Number 205. Get Off at Kyoto Aquarium Station. From the drop off point you will be able to see the alley to Hostel Haruya. The landmark is the Seven Eleven Store which is located at the opposite street. Go straight ahead the alley and you'll see the hostel.

You need to take note of the check in time. As they're very particular of it. Just to remind you that reception is not 24/7.

Reception Hours:
8:30 am - 11:00
16:00 - 21:00

There's three Hostel Haruya featured ryokans. Book, Terrace and Aqua. We stayed at Hostel Haruya Book. The highlight of the space is the library full of Japanese books. The library is also where we got the chance to meet people from other countries like Connie from Germany and Annika from Bulgaria.

There's also free water, coffee and tea.
Wifi is included.
Bicycles are for rent.

This is our dorm room.
