Bangkok Picks : Accommodation and Food

Since Bangkok is a city, of course, it has a lot to offer. There is something distinct about this city that until now I am still thinking of. It is not Korea or Japan that has a lot of cute stuff but this place is a combination of tradition and modern living. It is like Manila but not really. It is like Hong Kong but there's something in here that you can define in a different perspectum. I dunno maybe it's just Bangkok and there is nothing more and nothing less. Not bad and not good but something that is unique. Something that is different.

There are a lot of discoveries. You know, it was 2013 when I first came here and I can tell that it changed a lot since then. The only memory that I could not forget and would like to cherish during my travel last 2013 was eating pad thai. Pad thai is the staple food here in Bangkok and I could eat pad thai during my entire stay back then. But now, it was only during the cruise ship along Chao Phraya river I got to taste Thailand's pad thai. It was still yummy like the first time but now, I got to eat other delicacies especially when we went to the night market when we arrived. I forgot the name of the night market though but I know that you've already read or if you've been to Bangkok many times you already know that there are a lot of night markets that you can go to which for me is better than Hong Kong.

Micro Hostel
Address: 39/8 Soi Petchaburi 15, Petchaburi Road, Thanonphayathai,
Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
Website : http://micro-hostel.bangkokshotels.com/en/

Madhs and I stayed in Micro Hostel in Petchaburi. This area is near Pratunam which means that it is near malls, shopping centers, market and BTS. I like the area as we are near my target place which is the Krung Thong Plaza where they sell plus size clothing. (Now you know.) Aside from that what I like about this hostel is that we get to have our small private space for a cheap price. It's the same amount of money that you spend if you stay in dorm type of hostel. Not that bad. Although there is no breakfast. Maybe sooner or later there will be. (Who knows?)

Cafe Brown
Address : 39/4 Soi Petchaburi 15, Petchaburi Road, Ratchthevee,
Bangkok, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
Phone : +66 2 656 2828
Fax : +66 2 656 4288

Among the cafes that we went to Cafe Brown is our favorite. First, this cafe is walking distance from Micro Hostel. Second, the food are delicious. I like the coffee. So, we went here twice. Since there is no breakfast in Micro Hostel it was easy for us to decide that we eat here.  By the way, the cafe has a hostel too. It's called Boxpackers Hostel.

Dexter Cafe and Bar
Address : 56, 58 Soi Sathon 8, Sathorn Nua Road, 10500 Bangkok, Thailand
Phone : +66 2 636 6222
Open : Sa - Su 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
M- F 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM

We were supposed to go to Unicorn Cafe but because it was Monday that day the cafe was closed at that time. (It happened you know) So guys, do not forget to check the schedules of places listed in your itinerary. If you're as forgetful as me, make sure that you have an eye on your calendar. Dexter became our lifesaver and so far, I am fine with that. Madhs just ate ice cream and I just consumed a drink which is just fine.

The Tian Store
Address: 284 - 286 Maharat Road, Kwang Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang,
Ket Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand

The Tian Store City Lodge Bed and Bistro is known as one of the boutique hotels in Bangkok. It is a hotel but there is also a restaurant here so, Madhs and I went here after our tour in Wat Arun. What is good about the location is it's just facing Wat Pho so imagine how convenient it is for tourist. The reason why we were here was because of the food. It is not expensive. The food is just enough to fill our empty stomach. I highly recommend this place too.

So there you go. I know a lot of you may discover more when you travel to Bangkok. Just a tip: Make sure that you list all of the restaurants, cafes or hotels that you would like to visit or go to. Do your research. I understand that not all people would like to list down all these things but I am only saying this to those artsy peeps like me or OC people. Other than that, if ever there are places that you catch your attention while walking and you want to check out the place just check it out. You will never know what is there. You will never know what you will find in Bangkok. Just keep looking and you will find it.
