2nd day in Ubud when we decided to explore the other side of Monkey Road. It is where Monkey Forest is located. Monkey Forest is the most popular tourist spot in Ubud. It is 10 - 15 minutes walk from our place. In Ubud you will find peace and harmony between human beings and other living things - like monkeys (and frogs).
Monkey Forest is home to Balinese Macaques. It is not just an important part of spiritual and daily lives in Ubud but also the site of research and conservation programs. Before entering the site you must fully understand that this place is sacred and must treat the monkeys with respect. Do not forget to read the guidelines, and one thing that I want to stress out - DO NOT LITTER! Be mindful of your belongings as most monkeys could get stuff from you without you knowing. (Just to keep you a heads up, when we went to Uluwatu, an old woman was trying to get her cellphone back from a monkey. Imagine how would you look like if you were trying to chase a monkey because of the things that you could not give up.)

Remember that Monkeys play big role in the epic stories of Ramayana and Mahabarata. These were stories that up until now reflects on the lives and culture of Balinese.
