The Artsy Guesthouse: Balay Bakasyunan
We included Cebu City as part of our IT during our last day. Last year, Bianx and I stayed in Henry Hotel. The experience was remarkable. I am still in love with Henry and I am not denying it. Anyway, since we're just staying for a night and we're eyeing to visit this restaurant in Lahug, I searched for the nearest accommodation in Lahug particularly near Gorordo Avenue. (So, do you know which restaurant would it be? For the Cebuanos out there shhhhh...) The most cost effective for 5 pax and near the French Bakery is Balay Bakasyunan.
Why I chose this guesthouse :
1. They responded to all inquiries
2. They've given consideration to my request.
3. It's an artsy guesthouse (for an artsy person like moi) and
4. They're near to this restaurant I included in our IT.

Balay Bakasyunan is inside Gemsville Subdivision. It's a hostel/guesthouse/dorm type accommodation. It's near Ayala Center and 15 mins walk from the Pink House. If you have all the time to walk you may want to consider staying here. However, our time in the city was limited and too much walking was not part of our plan. They may contact a cab from outside but we were so unlucky that there was no cab available. No it was not there fault though as I've said if you stay in Balay Bakasyunan consider walking as part of the itenerary. I highly recommend this place if you're staying for a week. They're nice and the feeling of being home can be felt here.
