Beach Bumming: Malapascua Island

Aside from Bantayan Island which I haven't been to yet. Malapascua is one of the many beaches I've been wanting to visit in Cebu. Known for diving, Malapascua can be explored not just by diving but by bumming around as well so if you're not into diving "to be there" is just an awesome experience.

How to get there:
1. from airport travel to North Bus Station in Cebu City by cab.
2. from the North Bus Station ride a Ceres Bus (yellow bus) or van to Maya Port. We opted for the van because it's faster as we need to catch up the last pump boat going to Malapascua.
3. ride the 30-40 min motor boat to Malapascua.
The last boat departs at 5pm. If you arrived late in Maya Port, the option is to stay in a pension house for a night and wake up early for the first trip or hire a private boat that would require you to pay millions - kidding! depending on how you haggle just like how you haggle for your salary during job offer.
There will be an additional fee of 10 pesos if and only if you transfer from big bangka to small bangka because of low tide.
4. once you've reached the shore, walk your way to your resort or take habal habal. It's up to you.

Bounty Beach is the most popular beach in the island. This can be compared to the stations of Boracay. A little less commercialize though. No Mcdonalds or Starbucks (Oh puhlease!!!)

We stayed in Dano Beach Resort along Bounty Beach. Our small abode faces the beautiful beach of Malapascua Island and anytime we want to swim - the water is just there...waiting. One thing that I like about this place is the Mornings that's truly lovely. I was surprised during the first night that a lot of people slept along the shore. It's just their way of appreciating  the stars and welcoming the beautiful sunrise.
During the second day we took the tour - to know Malapascua more. Junee was so happy to snorkle with the fish: Allie enjoyed to do her video: Joanna was up for swimming without her life vest and Mitch even if there's less rice during lunch, I saw her happy and content. We enjoyed to see the shipwreck as we snorkle. The food was so sooooo yummy even if it's not the food we usually eat during our food trips in Manila. It's how simple it was that we appreciate everything that we had. Eating with liempo and the fish that I am not really familiar with friends and engaging conversations with new found friends and seeing an old friend from Manila was like - Amazing! The many lols and the breathtaking view - just made this trip really a blessing.
There's more to Malapascua I know, but this is enough of what I know for now. Have you been here before? I'm sure you've got your story too.
