My Shirakawa-go, Japan Dream
I've always dreamt of going to this place. When I went the first time in Japan with Cathy. I thought that I would be able to visit this tourist spot but we focused more on exploring Kansai. Luckily, Elle and I were able to booked our return ticket to Nagoya. Nagoya is one of the entry points of Shirikawa-go in Gifu. So, the next day that Elle and I arrived Nagoya from Osake we went directly to the bus station going to Shirakawa-go. By the way, just to inform you that we booked the bus ticket online prior to our flight.
Elle and I went in Japan last March. It was still winter during that month. Shirakawa-go is second to the highest area in Japan. Mt. Fuji is still number one. Imagine how cold it was when we were there. It was -2° that day luckily the sun appeared. I was not really ready for winter because I was expecting for cherry blossoms. But snow in Shirikawa go? We were so lucky to witness a snow filled UNESCO village.
The travel time from Nagoya to Shirikawa go by bus is 2 hours. There's one stop over.
The Historic Village of Shirikawa-go is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Be ready for what you will see below.
I've seen snow before in South Korea but it was my first time to actually touched and tasted it. Hahahah!!!
They say the best time to go in Shirakawa-go is during winter season.
I know that regardless of the season this place is still beautiful.
Whipped cream or ice cream? I know you will have fun walking around the place. Be imaginative and enjoy!
Do not forget to visit the view deck.
The view from above is really magnificent. If Elle and I were to describe the place. it's like you're inside a snow ball.
