Travel Diary, Ilocos : Vigan and Calle Crisologo

After Raph and I went to Santa Maria Church we headed to Vigan for lunch. It took us an hour to travel by van, the van passed by the church of Santa Maria this would take you directly to the city proper of Vigan. If you want to read more about Santa Maria Church. Click Here

We were dropped by at the city hall of Vigan. The city hall is facing Plaza Salcedo from there we searched for a place to stay. Because we wanted to see Calle Crisologo at night so we decided to stay for a night in Vigan before we go back in Ilocos Norte.

City Hall
The entire town of Vigan is considered as UNESCO's World Heritage. Here you can see different structures during the Spanish colonial period that are preserved up until now.

Vigan Cathedral
Plaza Salcedo is where the dancing fountain takes place. Raph and I were lucky to watch the show when we were here. It was a good decision to explore the city at night because this place has a lot of activities to offer to tourist. At the back of dancing fountain is the monument of Rizal and it faces Vigan Cathedral

Calle Crisologo

The reason why I would like to go here in Vigan is to see Calle Crisologo. We spent our time walking on this street at night where a lot of people are gathered. It was beautiful. What I like about this place is how Filipinos are placed in one place and to see them happy like they are celebrating a festival. Below are multiple photos of Calle Crisologo during the day. Of course, we checked out this place at night and during the day too. Both are beautiful indeed.

Calle Crisologo is a place where you can see Filipino Traditions aside from the old houses, there's also sorbetes (Philippine ice cream), taho (soy), capiz windows, religious figures and so much more. Tell me what other Filipino memoirs that you can see on this place.

Calle Crisologo at night

So there you go, here are just some of the places that we've been to. My advise to you is that when you go to Vigan, try to explore every street of it. You will never know what you will discover. Aside from Calle Crisologo and Plaza Salcedo, there are a lot of places that you can visit that Raph and I did not go to because our time was limited. But of course, I will be back in Vigan someday maybe for a quick get away from Paoay. Vigan empanada is also one good reason.
