Japan's Osaka and Nagoya Guide Part 2

ITADAKIMASU PART 2

Because it has already been more than 3 months from the time that Elle and I travelled in Japan. And all of my travel articles has already been piled up. :) I am now including in this article the accommodations in Osaka and Nagoya and also the food that we did not miss during our Japan travel. These bits of details may help you in your next travel in the land of the rising sun. Accept my apology for posting this article late. I know I owe you a lot.

(Top to Bottom Left to Right) Sakura flavored drink. Sukiya's Chesse Gyudon. Katsudon. Mcdonald's Shrimp Burger. Ordering Machine. Assorted Bread. Bread from Family Mart. Harry Potter's Beer Butter. Ramen in Dotounburi.
I love Japanese food. For me, eating Japanese food in Manila is no longer different from eating Japanese food in Japan except for the experience and the price. Since there are a lot of authentic Japanese restaurants in Manila.

When Cat and I first went in Japan, we ate gyoza many times. Gyoza has been the staple food of Japan. When Elle and I went there last March we were not able to eat gyoza. We relied more on Family Mart and Ministop that's near the hostels that we stayed in. From there we discovered a lot of good foods. Really, I can live inside these convenient  stores of Japan. Also, we tried Mcdonalds. Mind you, trying international fast foods like KFC or even Jollibee when you're out of the country will let you discover more of their specialties in that country. So, here in Japan-Mcdonalds I tried the Ebi Burger (which can also be tried in South Korea as per Elle). I really liked it!

The food discvery in Kyoto. sweets in Family Mart. Creo-ru Takoyaki. Strawberry in Matcha Mochi.
Sukiya is also one of the famous fast food restos in Nihon. They were originally from Yokohama but now they branched out from different places. When we tasted cheese gyudon we always looked for it wherever we were. Really, up until now I could not forget how it tasted. I remember how Elle and I would searched on the nearest Sukiya when we were there. They say, " you can never go wrong with cheese gyudon."  That is actually true.

Aside from that, we also found a street food in Arashiyama, Kyoto. There was a line formed at that stall so we took advantage that we were there to taste it. Fortunately, it's one of the bests.

This is the cart. You may see the product from the above picture.

Of course, I did not forget to checked out Dotonburi. I missed some of the food when Cathy and I were here last year. I tasted the famous ramen and yes, from the thought of it, I just want to eat ramen right now. We also tasted the popular takoyaki - Creo-ru Takoyaki. We tasted the mochi matcha flavor with strawberry while we were walking along the street of Nara. It's near Todaiji Temple.

Every time that I go to Japan, it always meet my expectations. The food are great. Never did I regret the food that we tasted. (except for the coffee that costed too much in Shirikawa-go.) Experiencing the food in Japan is an extra-ordinary adventure for every traveler.
Tell me what you've tried. I want to know your story as well.

OYASUMI NASAI

Oyasumi Nasai mean's Good Night in Japanese. One of the first few words that I learned when I was studying Nihonggo. Since the purpose of the  accommodations are primarily for sleeping I named this part Oyasumi Nasai. And since we went in two prefectures, I will be featuring both hostels in Osaka and Nagoya. Searching for an accommodation in Japan is not easy. Since its really expensive. Luckily, the hostel in Osaka had a promo that time. It just costs us 500+ Pesos per night. Although looking for a hostel is difficult, unlike other countries that you're thinking of the cleanliness, you will not mind that idea anymore since (i think) everything in Japan is clean and there is quality in all of their services. So let's start. This might be useful to all of you.

Cocoroom is located in Osaka, it is with in Nishinari ward. The place is walking distance from Tsutenkaku Tower, the smallest tower in Japan. It has an homey atmosphere, aside from the fact that Japanese are really welcoming, this place will make you feel that Japan is your home. Other than that, what I like about this hostel is that it is a house of an artists. So, you can see colorful interior and exterior. You know how creative I am so I cannot disregard this place. I love going back to this place from our get-aways in the morning - I dunno, it's just that, this place complements me.

Glocal Nagoya. This hostel that looks like a small box of drink in Japan has an excellent rating from different booking sites. A lot of people would recommend this place. I am too! The people here are welcoming. If in Cocoroom you will feel at home. In Glocal Nagoya, you will feel special. They have parties from time to time. So if you want to meet party goer Japanese then, you will like it here. But for introvert, like me, do not fret your room will give you enough privacy that you'd like even if you stay in the dorm.

This hostel is an example of a minimalist type of house in Japan. Also, almost everything in here is color white that makes this hostel really clean. The hostel is walking distance to Nagoya Central Station and Meitetsu Bus Center which could be your access to any parts of Japan.
