I Learned the Culture: Straits Chinese Jewelry Museum
While I was walking the streets of Melaka, a woman approached me if I would like to visit the museum. It is the Straits Chinese Jewelry Museum. I was really clueless of what this museum is. I just want to know how the Heritage House looks like inside then I learned more.
The Peranakan Culture can be found in Malaysia and Singapore. In Malacca they are known as Baba Nyonya. Baba means man and Nyonya means woman. The culture of Baba Nyonya can only be found with in the area of the Heritage site. These people were really rich. They came from the ancestry of Chinese immigrant traders as time goes by they incorporated the Malay Culture.
Here in Straits Chinese Jewelry Museum, is an old house from the Peranakan converted to a museum. Some of the things that can be found are the things that they used during the ancient time and mostly made of gold.
What they used during their Wedding Rites.
Random pictures of what you'll see inside a Baba Nyonya's house.
Here's how they made gold. I remember Rumpelstiltskin.
