Why Malacca is Part of the UNESCO Heritage City.
Aside from the Malacca Sultanate Museum and Forbidden Garden and Melacca Heritage Trail. Here's more of my Melacca Tour.
The Melacca Trip was purely walking. I wonder where I got calluses from my travel. Hehe! Kidding aside, visiting Melacca is a dream come true. Through my own walking tour, I've learned Melacca's culture. Here are random pics from Melacca with love.
Here's more from the Red Square.
Malacca's Rickshaw
I was not suppose to ride the rickshaw but I am already lost (I even have the map with me.) And the only mode of transportation I saw is the Malacca's rickshaw. How much it would cost, I am not really sure. So when I asked the boy who drives the Doraemon Rickshaw, he told me it costs 20MYR. That's less than 300 Philippine Pesos. Really? But the choice is either to walk without me knowing where to go or to experience riding the rickshaw. Of course, I chose the latter.
The Rickshaws can be found along the Red Square. It is supposed to be used for a tour that's why it is called Rickshaw Tour. I just read now, that the cost of the tour would be around 40 MYR for an hour.
The Jonker Street
The most famous of all Street is the Jonker Street. I highly recommend that you booked your accommodation near this area because there is a lot of things not to missed from morning until night. Night Market during weekend and food crawling is a must. I did when I was there but I have few pics to share.
Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum
If you want to know more about the Perenakan and the Baba Nyonya culture it is best to visit this museum.
Why Melacca is considered a UNESCO World Heritage City? I now understand why.
More photos of the old houses.
A lot of these houses are now converted to a store, Art Shops, Galleries, Food Houses. The center of culture of Melacca is here. Experience it best through site seeing, shop, and definitely you have to try Melaccan cuisine.
The Dutch House |
You have to try that Rice Balls.
It can be found to almost all restaurants is Melacca.

While walking I found Mr Pau Dim Sum stall along Jonker Walk. I've already read this from one of the blogs. It is highly recommended to try their dimsum.
At the end of Jonker Walk I found people gathered around this area. I found myself watching an old man singing in front of the crowd. I really like the experience of being one of them. I stayed listened to him singing Chinese song, even if I do not understand I was there eating my dimsum.
