Kyoto's UNESCO: 3 of 17
As I have mentioned, when I travel, as much as possible, I would visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites. So Kyoto became our happy place as there are a lot ( REALLY LOTS ) of UNESCO sites in this city. 17 in total.
Below are random of UNESCO Sites in Kyoto:
Tenryu-ji Temple
68 Saga Tenryuji Susukinoba-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture
What do I like about this place is it's serenity. I would never forget the moment I stepped in barefeet.
Kinkaku-ji
1 Kinkakujicho, Kita Ward, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture 603-8361
Known as the Golden Pavilion. Kinkaku-ji is a Buddhist temple. It surprised us when it caught our eyes and a lot of people have the same experience. One of the most beautiful creation on earth. It's worth all the effort when it became our last stop that day. Very Beautiful indeed.
Kiyomizu-dera Temple
294 Kiyomizu 1-chome, Higashiyama ward, Kyoto, Kyoto Perfecture 605-0682, Japan
This temple is uphill and be ready by wearing your most comfortable shoes. Right Cat? Aside from that bring your own fan and umbrella as you do not know what to expect that day. Not to worry, as this Heritage site, though many tourists go here and I am not really sure what's the best time to go if you're expecting for less peeps, is also one of the places that's worth all the uphill walk and sweat.
I really love Kiyomizu-dera because it let's me think, why such work of man-kind exist and how it was made. Kudos to Japanese ancestors for establishing works like this and to the Japanese citizens for keeping it preserved.
These amazed me!
Stores aligned the street. Check out what's inside as you may want to grab postcards and magnets of your favorite UNESCO.
And because I will be traveling back to Japan. I will continue to count more. See you soonest!
