Batanes Home: Marfel's Lodge Annex

I cannot deny the popularity of Marfel's Lodge. Very popular that I got curious of why people love to stay here. I sent an SMS to the number posted to one of many blogs I've read and they send a response immediately from there I kept on asking questions. I am not really picky on where to stay I just want to make sure that it is a safe place (though safety is not really a question in Batanes) plus the budget should be affordable. I also like the fact that I will be meeting a lot of travelers like me.

Marfel's Main is located near the airport but since all rooms were already occupied they transferred us to their Annex. It is a bungalow house with 5 rooms. Kitchen is available if you want to cook. If you do not want to eat outside they have their own version of Honesty Shop. I was able to do the laundry after we got back from our trip in Sabtang - very homey indeed.

What I do like about the Marfel's Annex is their front yard. I love sipping coffee outside one windy morning while chatting with Shiela, another traveler. I also get to chat with Lakwatserong Unggoy, Arnold, a blogger, who is also our housemate and became an instant friend, it was just a brief encounter. Got to know few people like Andrei from the Marfel Main and Gab and Trel where we shared our breakfast before our flight back to Manila. Apart from that, I always look forward every time that we were in Marfel, of Ate Fe's visit where we get to talk about our itinerary or we share our story of what happened within the day or story about Batanes. It was like a family where we get to see each other during dinner or every start of the day. The staff were all accommodating. I really felt I am home during my stay in Marfel.

  2. Hi D!
I'm not sure. Maybe because of the natural lights.
